Truss greenhouse

Truss greenhouses are known for their excellent ventilation, efficient climate control, and sturdy construction.

By default, these greenhouses are constructed with bays 9.60 or 12.80 meters wide, but customizations are possible upon request. The length of a bay is determined by the span, which varies between 4 and 5 meters. The standard height of the legs is 4.2 meters, but can be adjusted upon request to a maximum of 6 meters.

Thanks to its high headroom, a truss greenhouse offers logistical advantages—such as the ability to operate machinery inside the greenhouse—and helps maintain a more stable greenhouse climate.

Types of ventilation

Ridge ventilation

The Vermako greenhouse opens at the ridge, where warm air naturally rises. Ridge ventilation creates a chimney effect, which ensures efficient and natural air circulation.

Ridge options:

  • Openings along one or both sides of the ridge.
  • Semi-ventilation: One roof section opens, while the other remains fixed.

Technical Specifications:

  • The skylight runs the entire length of the greenhouse.
  • The system is attached to the gutter and opens with a tooth bar and drive tube.
  • An opening up to 1.8 meters along the entire length of the beech is possible.
  • Alternating ridge openings ensure optimal air circulation.

Poly ventilation

With poly-ventilation, both roof sections can be opened, ensuring maximum air circulation along the entire length of the greenhouse.

Technical Specifications:

  • An opening extending the full length of the greenhouse, up to 1.2 meters wide per bay.
  • Ventilation can be split for greater flexibility.
  • The system is attached to the gutter and opens with a tooth bar and drive tube.

A climate computer automatically regulates the opening of the hoods based on weather conditions for optimal greenhouse climate.

R-S Type: Roller and screen film greenhouse

The R-S greenhouse combines netting and plastic sheeting, with the sheeting capable of being rolled up. This design optimally mimics outdoor conditions, allowing crops to harden off. In extreme weather conditions, the roof can easily be closed for protection.

Cultivation does not have to be moved to the container field. This saves you work and logistics costs.

How is the greenhouse covered?

Although greenhouses are often associated with glass, Vermako opts for high-quality film covering. The choice between film and glass depends on the crop, since not every plant species grows optimally under the same conditions. Vermako’s specially designed film creates ideal growing conditions. In addition, film cladding makes it possible to open large areas, such as the roof and sides, for extra ventilation and flexibility.

Unique properties of Vermako films:

  • Anti-condensation: Prevents light loss due to condensation droplets sliding off the film.
  • Diffuse light: Provides even light distribution so that plants are reached from all sides.
  • Double film: Provides additional insulation for better temperature regulation.
  • Weather resistance: Less damage to the film and the crop in extreme weather conditions compared to glass.

Technical Description

  • Construction base: trusses, produced in our own workshop.
  • Materials:
    • Trusses and legs: hot-dipped galvanized profiles.
    • Gutters and ridge profiles: aluminum.
    • Arches, supports and crosses: round or oval tubes, zenzimir galvanized (according to EN Standard 10305.3 – Z 275).
  • Doors and ventilation: sliding doors and side vents made of aluminum.
  • Flexible sizing: Box sizes or beeches can be enlarged with a bridging truss.
