FAQ

General information about films

Double foil, with air blown in between, provides additional insulation. This results in:

  • A more stable climate in your greenhouse.
  • Potential reduction in heating costs for heated conservatories.

The old film is completely recyclable and is processed in an environmentally friendly way.

There is a very wide choice of foils. Vermako has these foils on offer:

  • Different thicknesses
  • ETFE (teflon) film
  • Thermal film
  • Anti-condensation film
  • White or white-green film (e.g. for packing halls or technical areas)
Foil offers several advantages:
  • UV transmittance
  • Increased light penetration and diffused light
  • Protection against crop destruction in case of hail
  • Extensive ventilation possibilities thanks to low weight per m²
  • More ventilation options
  • Anti-condensation: less light loss for plant

Warranty and maintenance

Yes, for optimal operation, we recommend lubricating the greenhouse’s bearings and drive train every two years.

The manufacturer’s warranty on films ranges from 5 to 7 years, depending on the region in which the film is used and the thickness of the material. This is a digressive warranty.

Technical aspects of conservatories and foils

No, our films have been tested and meet strict fire safety standards. In case of fire, the film melts away, but the flame stops at the arc (according to our tire test results).

For greenhouse construction, we use “Casta” software, a recognized package that applies the latest standards for greenhouse calculations. Wind and snow loads are automatically adjusted to the location of your conservatory. For the covers (or covers), the drawing office makes a proposal and we have it verified by a study firm.
Our conservatories mainly consist of:
  • Hot dip galvanized metal profiles
  • Aluminum profiles
  • Galva pipe profiles and sheet metal
  • Foil as cladding
  • Optional: sandwich panels or polycarbonate for certain parts
  • Motors to drive ventilation

Purchase and order

No, we deliver only to companies with a VAT number.

Yes indeed! Our in-house design and manufacturing process allows us to deviate from standard dimensions. Share your ideas with us, and our R&D department will explore the possibilities.

Permits and construction process

This depends on several factors. The groundwork must be ready, the permit must be in order, … For conservatories we use a standard lead time of 12 weeks after receipt of the advance payment. Deviations from this are negotiable. The constructions for the canopy department are custom-made. Because of this we cannot standardize the lead time. This is determined in consultation with the customer. Vermako does everything possible to realize your project within the best possible time.

In most cases, a permit is required. Consult with your city or town government or your environmental coordinator for certainty.

Al onze constructie (zowel overkappingen of serres) worden in-house ontworpen, geproduceerd en gemonteerd. Dit stelt ons in staat om beter aan de specifieke behoeften van onze klanten te voldoen.
